POD Christmas Mugs 2026: 11oz From $3.45, 15oz $4.10
What a print on demand Christmas mug costs at CustomCat, Teelaunch, Gelato and Printful: white, black and accent, 11oz to 20oz, with margin at $18.
A Christmas mug is the easiest holiday product to add to a POD shop. You already know how mugs work, and the only new thing is the design. The part sellers get wrong is the supplier: the same 11oz white mug costs $3.45 at CustomCat and $6.07 at Printful, and a black 15oz runs from $5.15 to $9.13.
We price seven mug variants across four suppliers. Here’s the whole table:
| Mug | CustomCat | Teelaunch | Gelato | Printful |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 11oz white | $3.45 | $3.65 | $6.26 | $6.07 |
| 11oz black | $4.59 | $4.99 | $6.26 | $8.11 |
| 11oz accent | $4.93 | $3.65 | — | $8.11 |
| 15oz white | $4.10 | $4.49 | $7.56 | $8.11 |
| 15oz black | $5.15 | $5.80 | — | $9.13 |
| 15oz accent | $5.78 | $4.49 | — | $9.13 |
| 20oz white | — | $9.99 | — | $9.69 |
Quick verdict
For a Christmas mug line, use Teelaunch’s accent mug at $3.65 (11oz) or $4.49 (15oz). The colored handle and interior make a plain holiday design look like a holiday product, and Teelaunch charges the same for its 11oz accent mug as for its plain white one.
If you only want white, CustomCat at $3.45 is the cheapest mug we price. Printful is the most expensive source for five of the seven variants. The exceptions are the 11oz white, where Gelato is 19 cents higher, and the 20oz, where Printful is 30 cents cheaper than Teelaunch.
Accent mugs cost nothing extra at Teelaunch
Accent mugs are a small upgrade on a product people buy as a gift. A red or green handle next to a Christmas design reads as a seasonal mug before anyone looks at the artwork. The cost of that upgrade depends heavily on the supplier:
| Supplier | 11oz white | 11oz accent | Accent premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Teelaunch | $3.65 | $3.65 | $0.00 |
| CustomCat | $3.45 | $4.93 | +$1.48 |
| Printful | $6.07 | $8.11 | +$2.04 |
At 15oz the pattern holds: Teelaunch charges $4.49 for both white and accent, while CustomCat adds $1.68 and Printful adds $1.02.
Check which accent colors your supplier actually stocks before you design around one. Red and green are the obvious Christmas choices, but a design built around a green handle is wasted if only red is in stock in December.
Black mugs: what the color costs you
Black mugs suit designs with white or metallic-looking lettering, like “Merry & Bright” in white script. They cost more at three of the four suppliers:
- CustomCat: $4.59 vs $3.45 white (+$1.14)
- Teelaunch: $4.99 vs $3.65 white (+$1.34)
- Printful: $8.11 vs $6.07 white (+$2.04)
- Gelato: $6.26 for both
Gelato is the one supplier where black is free. If you’re already fulfilling through Gelato, that makes black the easy choice there.
Design separately for each mug color. A design with dark red and green text built for a white mug nearly disappears on a black one, and a single design stretched across both usually looks wrong on one of them.
11oz or 15oz?
The 15oz mug looks more generous in a listing photo and supports a higher price. What it costs you depends on the supplier:
| Supplier | 11oz white | 15oz white | Step up |
|---|---|---|---|
| CustomCat | $3.45 | $4.10 | +$0.65 |
| Teelaunch | $3.65 | $4.49 | +$0.84 |
| Gelato | $6.26 | $7.56 | +$1.30 |
| Printful | $6.07 | $8.11 | +$2.04 |
At CustomCat, 65 cents buys a mug you can list for a few dollars more. At Printful, the step is more than three times that. If you’re on CustomCat or Teelaunch, it’s worth offering 15oz as a size option on every Christmas listing.
The 20oz is a different product. At $9.69 (Printful) or $9.99 (Teelaunch), it costs almost three times an 11oz from the cheapest supplier. Offer it as an upsell, not as your main listing.
What you keep on an $18 mug
Take an $18 listing on Etsy. Fees on the item price come to about $2.16: 6.5% transaction, 3% + $0.25 payment processing and a $0.20 listing fee, per Etsy’s current fee structure. Before shipping, you keep:
| Mug and supplier | Cost | You keep at $18 |
|---|---|---|
| 11oz white, CustomCat | $3.45 | $12.39 |
| 11oz accent, Teelaunch | $3.65 | $12.19 |
| 11oz black, CustomCat | $4.59 | $11.25 |
| 11oz white, Printful | $6.07 | $9.77 |
| 11oz white, Gelato | $6.26 | $9.58 |
| 11oz accent or black, Printful | $8.11 | $7.73 |
Printful’s accent mug keeps $4.46 less per sale than Teelaunch’s. Over 150 Christmas orders, that’s $669.
For 15oz at $22 (fees about $2.54), a Teelaunch accent mug at $4.49 leaves $14.97. A Printful accent at $9.13 leaves $10.33.

Breakage and shipping
Mugs break in the post, and December is when carriers are busiest. Three things keep that from costing you:
- Know the claim window. Printful reprints items that arrive damaged if the claim is filed within 30 days of delivery, per its return policy. Look up the equivalent rule at whichever supplier you use before December, not after the first broken-mug message.
- Ask customers for photos straight away. Every supplier’s claim process runs on a photo of the damaged item. Put that request in your shop’s order message.
- Don’t promise dishwasher safety you haven’t checked. Many POD mugs are sublimation-printed and dishwasher safe, as Printify notes for most of its mugs. But it varies by product, so copy the care line from your supplier’s product page rather than assuming.
Mixed orders also need watching. A buyer who adds a mug to a sweatshirt order may get two separate parcels from two separate facilities, and the slower one decides whether the gift arrives before Christmas.
Christmas mugs sell as gifts, not as mugs
Most Christmas mug buyers aren’t buying a mug for themselves. They’re buying a Secret Santa present, a teacher gift or a stocking filler, which changes what works:
- Personalization matters more than art. A name or a family in-joke on a plain mug usually beats a detailed illustration nobody asked for.
- A price just under $20 is easy to buy. Gift-exchange budgets tend to be round numbers, and a mug is one of the few POD products that fits under them with a real margin left.
- Mugs don’t go stale after December. If a “Christmas” mug isn’t dated, you can keep it listed as a winter mug into January. Ornaments and year-dated designs can’t do that.
If you’re building a wider holiday range, the Christmas ornament cost guide covers the other small gift that sells alongside mugs.
Bottom line
Teelaunch’s accent mug at $3.65 is the best Christmas mug buy we price, because the seasonal color costs nothing extra. CustomCat’s white at $3.45 is the cheapest mug overall. Printful charges $2.62 to $4.64 more than the cheapest supplier on six of the seven variants, which is a lot on an $18 gift.
