Bella Canvas 3413 vs 3001: Triblend Costs $2–$14 More
Bella 3001 is cheaper at all five suppliers stocking both, by $2.14 to $14.09 a shirt. What the 3413's triblend softness buys you, and when it's worth paying.
Bella Canvas 3413 vs 3001 is a fabric decision, not a brand one. The 3001 is Bella’s 4.2 oz, 100% combed ring-spun cotton jersey tee: smooth face, crisp prints, 80+ colors. The 3413 is a 3.8 oz triblend (50% polyester / 25% cotton / 25% rayon) that feels softer and drapier and prints with a heathered, vintage look. That softness costs money: in our verified prices the 3001 is the cheaper shirt at every one of the five suppliers that stock both, by $2.14 at CustomCat up to $14.09 at Printify. Pick the 3001 by default. Pick the 3413 when the faded, broken-in feel is what you’re selling.

Both are side-seamed and come from the same factory system, so construction quality is a wash. What changes is the fiber, which drives feel, print look, and price.
What does the 3413’s triblend actually change?
Feel. Rayon is the reason triblends feel slinky and pre-washed out of the bag. The 3413 is lighter than the 3001 and drapes instead of holding its shape. Buyers who describe a shirt as “the softest one I own” are usually describing a triblend.
Print look. Three fibers take dye differently, so every 3413 color is heathered. On top of that, DTG ink only bonds to the cotton portion, which is a quarter of the fabric. The result is a print that looks faded and slightly textured from day one. That’s ideal for retro graphics, distressed type, and throwback sports designs. It’s a problem for bright solids, small text, and photographic art, which all print sharper on the 3001’s all-cotton face.
Fit. The 3413 runs a relaxed cut, and the poly and rayon give it some stretch. The 3001 is a straighter unisex retail fit. If your customers already know their 3001 size, expect the 3413 to feel looser in the same size.
What does each tee cost to print?
We pulled the size-L printed price from each supplier’s own catalog. Five suppliers carry both shirts, and the 3001 is cheaper at all five of them. Here is each one, side by side.
| Supplier | Bella 3413 | Bella 3001 | Gap per shirt |
|---|---|---|---|
| CustomCat | $9.51 | $7.37 | $2.14 |
| SPOD | $18.64 | $14.66 | $3.98 |
| Printful | $18.31 | $11.92 | $6.39 |
| Gooten | $17.40 | $10.40 | $7.00 |
| Printify | $25.38 | $11.29 | $14.09 |
Three more suppliers price the 3001 but not the 3413: merchOne at $10.37, Gelato at $10.39 and Teelaunch at $11.00.
Two things stand out. First, CustomCat is the cheapest place to print either shirt, and it’s the only supplier where the triblend premium is close to small. If you want to sell the triblend at a normal tee price, that’s where the numbers work. Second, the gap at Printify is wide enough to change a listing’s pricing. The 3001 there is $11.29, while the triblend is more than double that.
If you fulfil through one supplier for everything, the gap you’ll actually live with is that supplier’s row, not the floor price. The full lists sit on the Bella Canvas 3413 product page and the Bella Canvas 3001 product page.
When is the Bella 3413 worth paying for?
The softness is the pitch. Soft-luxe lifestyle brands, loungewear, and “comfiest shirt you’ll own” positioning all run on the triblend hand. A 3001 is soft for a cotton tee, but it doesn’t feel like a triblend.
Your art is built for a faded finish. Vintage logos, retro sunsets, 70s-style type, and distressed graphics look intentional on the heathered 3413 face. The same art on a 3001 can look flat by comparison.
Your margin can absorb it. Triblends sell at a higher retail price in most soft-tee niches, so a $4 to $7 gap at a mid-priced supplier often passes through to the customer. At Printify the math is much harder.
When is the Bella 3001 the better pick?
Most of the time. The 3001 is cheaper at every shared supplier, stocked at more suppliers, available in about twice as many colors, and sized to 5XL. It’s the safer default for a new design or a catalog of mixed niches.
Your designs need clean color. Bold solids, white ink on dark shirts, and fine linework print truer on 100% cotton. If a design depends on an exact brand color, test it on the 3001 first.
You sell extended sizes. The 3413 stops at 3XL. If 4XL and 5XL customers matter to you, the 3001 is the only one of the two that covers them.
If you want something between the two, the 3001’s heather CVC sibling is a middle step. Our Bella 3001 vs 3001CVC comparison covers it. And if you’re weighing triblend against another soft blend, see Bella 3413 vs Next Level 6210.
Should you stock both?
Plenty of stores do. Keep the 3001 as the base listing for every design, and add the 3413 as a “premium soft” option on the vintage-style designs where the heather helps. Because the shirts print differently, check a sample of each design on the 3413 before listing it. Don’t assume the 3001 mockup carries over.
The bottom line
The Bella 3001 is the cheaper, more flexible shirt: $7.37 to $14.66 at size L across eight suppliers, with more colors and sizes and sharper prints. The Bella 3413 adds real softness and a vintage look, and that costs $2.14 more at CustomCat and up to $14.09 more at Printify. Pay it when the feel or the faded look is part of the product.
